The global fashion industry will turn its attention to the United Kingdom from 19 to 23 February 2026, as London Fashion Week returns for its Autumn/Winter 2026 season. Organised by the British Fashion Council, the five-day event remains one of the most influential stops on the international fashion calendar, forming part of the “Big Four” alongside New York, Milan and Paris.
London Fashion Week Dates and Structure
London Fashion Week AW26 started on Thursday 19 February and will run until Monday 23 February 2026 across venues in London. The schedule will feature a combination of physical runway shows, presentations and installations, reflecting the city’s longstanding balance between heritage houses and experimental, emerging talent.
The February edition continues to serve as London’s primary womenswear showcase. In recent seasons, the British Fashion Council discontinued the standalone June edition of London Fashion Week, shifting its focus toward commercial initiatives such as London show ROOMS in Paris to support British designers internationally. The February and September seasons now anchor the capital’s runway calendar.
A Platform for Established and Emerging Talent
London has long been recognised for nurturing creativity and pushing conceptual boundaries. The AW26 schedule reflects that dual identity, with a mix of internationally established names and rising designers.
Among the designers confirmed to present are:
• Burberry, the heritage British luxury house that remains one of the week’s most anticipated showcases.
• Erdem, known for intricate craftsmanship and romantic detailing.
• Simone Rocha, celebrated for sculptural silhouettes and textured layering.
• Richard Quinn, whose dramatic prints and couture-level presentation have become a signature of London’s theatrical edge.
• Temperley London, marking its 25th anniversary season.
• Julien Macdonald, returning to the official schedule.
The provisional calendar also reflects London’s commitment to nurturing new voices through its talent initiatives, including the BFC’s support schemes that provide financial assistance and visibility to emerging brands.
Continued Industry Support
For AW26, the British Fashion Council has continued its policy of waiving show fees for designers presenting physically on the main schedule. The move is part of an ongoing strategy to reduce financial barriers and strengthen London’s position as a launchpad for independent brands navigating an increasingly challenging global market.
In addition, the BFC has confirmed new commercial partnerships for the February 2026 edition, reinforcing institutional backing for the week at a time when the wider fashion industry continues to adjust to economic pressures and evolving consumer behaviours.
These initiatives aim to protect English designers and ensure that they are able to showcase their skills effectively. Putting the needs of designers first is an essential part of maintaining the London fashion scene and safeguarding the interests of London fashion on the global stage,
London’s Role on the Global Stage
As the second stop of the international fashion month, following New York and preceding Milan and Paris, London Fashion Week traditionally sets a creative tone for the Autumn/Winter season. The city is known less for strict commercialism and more for conceptual innovation, cultural storytelling and technical experimentation. This acts as a balance and anchor to the stories and intentions of the remaining fashions shows across the big 4 showcases each season.
From established luxury houses to next-generation designers, AW26 is expected to reaffirm London’s reputation as fashion’s creative laboratory – a place where heritage tailoring meets avant-garde construction and where emerging talent shares the spotlight with global brands.
As the first models stepped onto the runway on 19 February, London once again assumed its place at the centre of the fashion conversation, offering a distinctly British perspective on the season ahead, and a conversation about the seasons to follow.
