The much-awaited Coachella weekend took place over the past few days, and the performances were well worth the wait. The famous desert-based festival held its iconic first weekend from 10- 13 April with crazy performances from some of the world’s most famous performers. The Coachella stage welcomed headliners like Lady Gaga, Post Malone and Green Day as well as some brilliant performances by Tyla, Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, Missy Elliot and many more iconic acts.
Coachella Day One: Welcome to the Desert
Coachella Day One was an important opener for a weekend that is set to end up on Instagram feeds worldwide. The vibes were set and the sun was sweltering, setting the tone for the rest of the exciting weekend ahead. Tyla performed her first ever Coachella set on Day 1, performing her smash hit ‘Water’ among other hits from her self-titled debut album. The South African singer brought on Becky G as a special guest star to perform their song ‘On My Body’. This was a great debut performance and an exciting taster for her weekend 2 performance.
Many stellar performances took place throughout the day, as acts like Missy Elliot, Benson Boone, and GloRilla took the stage and set the place alight. Day one of Coachella was a brilliant start to an exciting weekend.
Day Two: The Fun Continues
The Brat Summer continued into 2025, and Charli XCX performed her hits from her most recent album ‘Brat’. Performing the project that took the world by storm last year was a grand delight to all the alt pop lovers everywhere. It’s only fair that people are amped up for her weekend 2 performance, especially after the exciting guests she had for the first weekend, like Lorde with a new remix of “Girl, So Confusing” and Billie Eilish for a rendition of their 2024 collaboration “Guess”.
Green Day headlined Day Two of Coachella and this was a dream to avid members of ‘Idiot Nation’ (the band’s official fan club, presumably named after their hit song ‘American Idiot’). The band performed songs from their albums ‘Dookie’ and ‘American Idiot’ during their 18-song set and it was a gift that kept on giving.
Day Two was filled with amazing performances across the board, leaving many people incredibly satisfied and excited for the final day of weekend 1.
Day Three: The Coachella Climax (Part 1)
The first weekend of the festival of all festivals came to an end on Sunday, with another day of exciting performances. Megan Thee Stallion took to the stage on Sunday for a crazy performance with huge guest appearances by Ciara, Queen Latifah and Victoria Monet. Her set was choreo-filled and excitable, in true Meg fashion and she had all the hot girls dancing. Her performance was cut short after she seemingly ran over her allotted time, which left the hotties wanting even more. This could be a perfect setup for what is sure to be a crazy weekend 2 set.
Day Three had a ton of amazing performances, from Post Malone as a headliner to sets by Jennie of Blackpink, Zedd and Keshi, there was something for everyone.
This year, Coachella brought a little bit of something for everyone and we’re still looking forward to more. The performances next week are likely to be even better than Weekend 1 and there is a lot to look forward to.
